Kuan Yin is the bodhisattva of compassion as venerated by East Asian Buddhists. Kuan Yin originated as the Sanskrit Avalokitevara, which is her male form. Commonly known in the West as the Goddess of Mercy, she is also revered by Chinese Taoists as an Immortal. The name Kuan Yin is short for Kuan-shih Yin which means "Observing the Sounds of the World". I added Kuan Yin to the collection while I was in Spain completing the series. I felt I needed an Eastern diety added into the mix and then I met Celia. Celia Fabra was leading a Reiki workshop I attended in Valencia. She mentioned to me that Kuan Yin was one of her guides that was passed down to her from her Reiki Master. She told me that Kuan Yin was a powerful Healing Goddess and that sealed the deal for me, she was in!
